November Students of the Month

Luke Matthews
Luke is a sweetie pie who—I think it can be said—
is really very smart…and he likes the color red.
He’s quite good at doing puzzles (it’s what he likes to do)
When he’s all grown up he wants to be a firefighter too!

CJ Kenney
CJ is the best kid ever—he’s really, really sweet.
He wants to fight fires and loves waffles to eat.
He’s a whiz at memorizing and likes the color blue.
At school he enjoys the playground and his buddy, Noah, too!

The Letter 'V'

**There are THREE new updates...scroll all the way down to see them all!**

Last week was brought to you by the letter "V". We made paper Vests...

Wrote letters in shaVing cream...

Watched a Volcano experiment...

Painted our feet (no "v" here...part of our 'Thank you God for ME' lesson)...

Had a Violin concert! (Thanks Morgan, you did a great job!!)...

And ate Vanilla pudding (thanks Kathryn Grace!)...

Stay Low and Go!

As part of fire safety week, we practiced crawling low and calling 911. It's important for your child to know his/her full name, address and phone number. Keep practicing this at home!

Fire Safety

Thanks so much to the firemen who came to our school to teach us a bit about fire safety! We got to see the fire engine and ladder truck (Luke will tell me if I got that wrong!), have a visit from Sparky the Fire Safety Dog, and saw a firefighter dressed in his gear and learned not to be afraid if we saw them during a fire.

It was a great learning experience--especially since so many of the little guys were really afraid of the fireman once he had on all of his gear! Watch the progression of pics--Ms. Lisa and Ms. Debbie were covered over in kids by the time he was all dressed. Funny, but serious too, since it showed that we really do need to emphasize that they should NOT be afraid during an emergency.

Hallelujah Day

We had SUCH a fun day celebrating Halloween at school. The students dressed up in their costumes and we joined with the 3K class to do lots of fun activities...bake cupcakes, ice cookies, watch a movie, have free play, and even a costume fashion show!
